What breed is my dog?
Dogs have been selectively bred for thousands of years. Centuries of selective breeding by humans has resulted in dogs being more genetically diverse than most other mammals by a considerable margin.
As such, dogs are the only animal with such a wide variation in appearance without speciation, "from the Chihuahua to the Great Dane"

In the veterinary field to describe the cat "breed" when not a specific breed of cat they are named based off of their coat length.
The kitten to the left is a domestic short hair cat
This young cat to the left here is a domestic medium hair.
Note the longer face, belly, rear leg and tail hairs.
This fluffy cat is a long haired cat, nearly the whole face and body of the cat is long haired.(Though this cat is a Norwegian Forest Cat not a Domestic Longhair)
